CLARITY BEFORE COMMITMENT
Foreigners & Clients Abroad

Start with your matter, current country and any important deadline. Ask counsel about the scope of representation, document requirements and communication before arranging a power of attorney or sending originals. This is a preparation path, not a promise that every step can be completed remotely.
Nationality, residence and transaction location differ
For foreign, GCC and Egyptian clients abroad, identify nationality, country of residence, property or activity location and the intended action. Being outside Egypt does not prevent an initial discussion, but it does not mean every step can be completed remotely. These details help identify questions and requirements for assessment.
A brief for a cross-border discussion
Prepare a summary in an agreed language, dates with time zones, and a document inventory showing language and issuing authority. Separate Egyptian-law work from any opinion needed in another country. International team experience does not automatically mean every member is authorised to represent clients in every country. Responsibility and scope are identified for the matter.
Before signing a power of attorney or sending originals
Discuss the intended action, authority limits and receiving authority, then ask about execution, authentication, translation and attendance. Do not use broad authority merely because a template exists. Agree who receives originals and how receipt and return will be recorded. Document acceptance remains with the competent authority.
An organised discussion
- Define the task, current stage and important date.
- List available and missing records without sensitive details in the general message.
- Discuss scope, responsibility, outputs, fees and the document-sharing channel.
- Before proceeding, review the questions that have been resolved, those that remain open and any work requiring a separate engagement.

What affects timing and fees?
There is no single price for every matter. Factors to discuss here include: countries and languages involved, authentication and translation, original-document delivery, attendance and multiple authorities or advisers.
Separate professional fees from authority charges, translation, delivery and expenses. Specify included work and any extra approval required. Timing depends on steps, documents and authority schedules; it is not a promise of an outcome or expedited decision.
Topic-specific questions
Must I be in Egypt for the first consultation?
Initial contact can start by telephone or online under the firm’s stated service. Attendance and evidence requirements are discussed separately for each procedure.
Does Egyptian-law support include advice in my country of residence?
No. Identify any component requiring another country’s law and the responsible lawyer within a separate agreement or clear scope.
A clear next step
Start with the issue, date, country and preferred language. Acceptance, scope and fees are agreed before work starts. The website tool prepares a draft only; use telephone or WhatsApp for actual contact.
In Egypt or contacting us from abroad?
This contact route is for foreigners living in or visiting Egypt, and clients abroad with a legal matter in Egypt. Identify your current location separately from the location of your legal matter.
Foreign residents and expats in Egypt
Start with the matter type: property, a contract, a company, a family matter or a criminal matter. Prepare a document inventory, preferred language and important dates, then discuss attendance, translation and representation scope.
Clients in the GCC and Arab countries
If you are in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman or another Arab country, identify the action needed in Egypt and the country where your documents were issued. Power-of-attorney and authentication requirements depend on the receiving authority.
Clients in Europe, the USA and Canada
Identify your country of residence, time zone and document languages. Agree communication and responsibility for the Egyptian matter, separating Egyptian-law advice from any legal work needed in another country.
