SERVICE CLARITY
Your Client Journey: Before and After Legal Services

Understand the agreement points that clarify the service from the start and what to request when a stage ends. This is a practical discussion checklist, not a claim that every matter follows identical steps or dates.
1. First contact and acceptance
Identify the issue, location, important date and preferred language. Acceptance of the matter and any conflicts of interest are discussed before work starts. A call or summary does not confirm engagement. Do not post party details or confidential papers in public comments.
2. A clear agreement before work
- The task, stage, agreed outputs and exclusions.
- The responsible lawyer, contact channel and how updates are discussed.
- Professional fees, official charges, expenses and any costs requiring additional approval.
- Records and arrangements for delivering, receiving and returning originals.
3. During the service
Agree an update format suitable for the matter. A useful update identifies completed work, items awaiting documents or action by an authority, the next step and any change in scope or cost. A 24/7 response service does not mean public authorities operate continuously or decisions are immediate.
4. At the end of a stage
- Request a summary of completed work, open items and exclusions.
- Review documents, outputs and expenses against the agreement.
- Identify any next stage requiring a new engagement.
- Confirm arrangements for returning originals and communicating after the stage ends.
5. Feedback and concerns
Assess communication, scope and fee clarity, document organisation and agreed outputs, rather than reducing service quality to the case result. Do not publish client or party details. Form-based feedback collection is currently disabled; contact the firm directly about an existing service without posting confidential details.
